What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is a series of custom-made, clear aligners that gradually straighten teeth over time. This unique design, made with SmartTrack® material, treats a wide range of issues – from mild to complex cases. Invisalign® uses proprietary ClinCheck® software to map out the path to your smile, right down to the tiniest shift, from start to end.
How does Invisalign® treatment work?
During your first appointment, your Invisalign®-trained doctor will take photos, X-rays, and digital scans or dental impressions to create your treatment plan.
Using Align Tech’s proprietary ClinCheck® software, your doctor creates a customized 3D treatment plan based on your dental records. Your 3D treatment plan will depict the expected final position of your teeth and also give you an indication of the likely length of the treatment.
The customized aligners will be manufactured and shipped to your doctor’s office.
Your series of custom-made aligners will be given to you (typically 3–4 sets at a time) for you to wear every day, and change approximately every 2 weeks.
You will visit your Invisalign®-trained doctor approximately every 6–8 weeks to monitor your progress and receive the next series of aligners.

After Treatment
The position of our teeth continues to change throughout life. This is a long-term process that can lead to changes in the bite or in the alignment of the teeth. In addition, teeth have the tendency to return toward their original position after orthodontic treatment. This is called relapse.
Therefore, retainers are provided to minimize this and ensure stability of the treatment outcome. The dentist will provide you with instructions on the care and use of the retainers.
